Guest Day Gifts?

This week Sue C. asked us what she should give a friend who invited her to her guest day. Although the idea seems simple, what is actually appropriate? If you knew what she paid to bring you then you could have an idea about what to spend. However, you should also give a gift of what you would be happy to receive. We feel a really nice candle and/or a bottle of wine is appropriate. Another idea is a nice box of chocolates or an orchid. Sticking with the golf theme is cute too.

No one asks you to their guest day so they will receive a gift in turn. They ask you because they enjoy your company and want to spend time with you. So, a reciprocal gesture is appropriate but by all means spend as much as you want. And don’t forget to invite this same friend to your guest day the following year!
