I don't often write the articles, but New Orleans is

one of my favorite places so I couldn't help myself. I was so excited to share some of our favorite places. 4 Day Itinerary

Over the past 30 years, my husband and I have visited New Orleans countless times—together and separately. We've dined at numerous restaurants, checked off all the must-see tourist spots, watched fireworks on New Year's Eve, and stayed in a variety of hotels and apartments. But one thing we haven’t done? Golf in New Orleans!

So why feature New Orleans in a golf blog? Because beyond being a must-visit destination, this vibrant city is home to the Zurich Classic, formerly known as the Compact Classic. Years ago, my husband worked with former NFL players in New Orleans and frequently traveled there for business. On a couple of those trips, he attended what was then the Compact Classic. Fun fact: He even met Mrs. Phil Mickelson! Well, technically, she said hello, and he walked three holes with her—but that counts, right?

Today, this exciting tournament is known as the Zurich Classic. Last year, Pam and her husband had the incredible opportunity to attend as guests of Zurich Insurance. As the only two-man team event on the PGA Tour, it's a unique and entertaining tournament, especially in person. Pam even got a "backstage pass" experience—playing a practice round on the same course and meeting several pros. If you ever have the chance to visit New Orleans during the Zurich Classic, we highly recommend it. And if you can't make it for the tournament, consider playing a round at TPC Louisiana, a beautiful course just southwest of the city.

Of course, New Orleans is more than just golf. The city is a blend of fascinating neighborhoods—the Garden District, the Warehouse District, and the iconic French Quarter. If you love food as much as we do, you’ll quickly realize one trip isn’t enough to experience all the incredible dining, sights, and, of course, golf that New Orleans has to offer! Get ideas for your stay with our 4 day itinerary.
